Studio Policies

At Jamie Ann Johnson — Bridal Alterations & Fine Garment Studio, every project receives individual attention, from the initial consultation through the final fitting. The following policies help establish clear expectations regarding appointments, alterations, custom work, and garment collection.

Appointments & Consultations

All services are available by appointment only.

An initial consultation or fitting is required to evaluate alterations, discuss custom projects, and establish pricing and timelines.

Bridal consultations are $50, applied toward the final balance when the client proceeds with alterations.

Consultation fees for other services, when applicable, will be communicated before scheduling.

Please provide your event date and a brief description of your project when requesting an appointment.

Estimates & Pricing

Alteration and custom-work pricing is determined by garment construction, complexity, materials, and the work required.

An estimate will be provided following evaluation of the garment or proposed project.

Any additional work beyond the approved estimate will be discussed with the client before proceeding. Changes to the original scope may result in additional charges.

Deposits & Payments

A 50% deposit is required before bridal alteration work begins.

Custom garment projects and other services may require deposits based on the scope of work and materials needed. Payment requirements will be communicated before a project is accepted.

The remaining balance is due upon completion and before garment collection, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Deposit refund and cancellation terms will be provided before payment is accepted.

Fittings

Clients should bring the shoes, undergarments, and accessories they intend to wear with their garments, as these may significantly affect the fit.

Depending on the complexity of the work, multiple fittings may be necessary.

Changes in measurements, footwear, undergarments, or design preferences after work has begun may require additional alterations and charges.

Fit and comfort are priorities throughout the process. Clients are encouraged to communicate any concerns during their fittings so adjustments can be evaluated before completion.

Alterations

Every effort is made to preserve the original design and construction of a garment while achieving the requested fit.

Some garments have construction limitations, delicate materials, previous alterations, or existing damage that may affect the available options.

Any significant concerns identified during evaluation or alterations will be discussed with the client.

The studio reserves the right to decline work when the requested alterations are not reasonably achievable or could compromise the garment.

Custom Garments

Custom construction projects begin with a consultation to discuss design ideas, materials, measurements, budget, and timeline.

Once a project is approved, a written estimate or agreement will outline the scope of work, payment requirements, and anticipated fitting schedule.

Changes requested after design approval or commencement of construction may affect the final cost and completion timeline.

Cancellation and refund provisions for custom projects will be specified in the individual agreement, particularly when materials have been purchased or construction has begun.

Dance Studios & Group Fittings

Alterations and custom construction are available for individual dancers, dance teams, and studios.

For dance studios in Central and South Arkansas, group fitting appointments may be arranged on a scheduled day.

Group services are subject to availability, location, number of dancers, and project requirements.

Scheduling arrangements, fees, fitting responsibilities, payment terms, and garment delivery or collection plans will be established with the studio before work begins.

Scheduling & Cancellations

Please provide as much notice as possible when requesting an appointment change or cancellation.

Because services are scheduled individually, repeated cancellations or missed appointments may affect future scheduling availability.

Any applicable cancellation fees or deposit conditions will be disclosed before an appointment or project is confirmed.

Timelines & Rush Requests

Project timelines depend on the type of garment, complexity of alterations, materials, and number of fittings required.

Please communicate your event date when scheduling your initial consultation.

Rush services may be available depending on the studio's current workload and the nature of the project. Additional fees may apply and will be disclosed before approval.

Completion dates may need to be adjusted when additional alterations or changes are requested.

Final Fittings & Garment Collection

A final fitting may be required to confirm the completed fit before garment collection.

Clients are encouraged to inspect their garments and communicate any concerns during the final fitting.

Completed garments must be paid for in full before collection unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Garment collection will be arranged individually when the work is complete.
